It has arrived, the lead up to Christmas 2025. It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of November and in less than one week it will be the month of December and it is all downhill from there (only kidding).
For those of you who celebrate Thanksgiving, it takes place tomorrow and I wish you all a pleasant day of gathering in community with each other and giving thanks for all that you have.
Here in Ireland, it was quite a year. Storm Eowyn hit the country at the end of January and for some, it set the precedent of how the rest of the year would pan out. Several thousand homes were left without electricity for at least one week with some people not restored until 20 days after the storm landed. This event shook a lot of people, and served as a line in the sand for some.
They could not look at their way of life and homes in the same way again. They felt forgotten about and started to seriously contemplate whether they could continue to live longterm where they were. Its fair to say that some parts of the country are adversely affected by any wind and at times there doesn’t need to be a wind of any sort, power outages are due to poor infrastructure of the system.
Still, people are resilient and recovered enough to celebrate the usual annual events here in Ireland – St. Patricks Day, Easter and the summer.
School holidays came and went and another academic year started at the end of August. Halloween had not passed when Christmas advertising started in the shops.

At the moment in the month of May, the bluebells are in full bloom in woodlands. The wood featured in this reel is Bluebell Woods near Boyle in Co. Roscommon. The sea featured is Rosses Point, Co. Sligo and the mountain is the famous Knocknarea also in County Sligo where legend has it, that Queen Maeve is buried under a cairn at the very top of the mountain. My own garden also features.

It is a time of fresh beginnings, new starts and this year, it is the start of Summer time! Out with the old and in with the new, if there are any old belief systems that are now outdated and no longer serving you well, this is the time to release them.
Green is the colour to wear today! For those of you familiar with the Chakra system, green is the colour representing the heart chakra. It is also the colour associated with Archangel Raphael who we can (upon request), call in during a reiki session to lend his healing energy.
Archangel Raphael is the archangel of healing challenges in our life whether it be physical or emotional. He is also known as the Patron Saint of Healing and his symbol is a caduceus (a staff that represents healing) which can be seen on the side of ambulances. It represents the medical profession.
