Is a Reiki session and an Angel Card Reading suitable for me?
Reiki is a complementary therapy and must be approached as a therapy that can be used in conjunction with whatever advice and guidance a medical professional is giving you.
The human body has innate healing abilities, for example, when we cut a finger slightly, it will close over and heal or if we put our hands over our tummy when we are feeling sick, it provides some relief. Reiki energy taps into the universal healing energy that we all are part of and can be a useful tool.
Taster reiki sessions are available for anyone who has not had reiki before and would like to experience it before paying for a full session or group of sessions. This also gives the client an opportunity to see if the reiki practitioners energy resonates with them. Having a brief telephone conversation before booking a full session also helps to determine if the practitioner matches the clients energy.
We were all born with intuition, it is the “gut instinct” that can kick in in times of potential danger, alerting us and diverting us away from the danger or helping us to prepare for tackling challenging situations.
Angel Oracle and Angel Tarot cards are a divinatory tool for helping us to tap in to our intuition. Often times when a card comes out in a reading we will automatically know if the message is spot on or if it is one that we want to avoid at all costs! And so, we are better prepared and/or confidant to take steps that we feel are necessary or in our best interests. The cards need to be viewed as an entertainment, spiritual or educational tool and not as a replacement for professional advice such as Solicitors, Estate Agents, Medical Professionals. Rather, they can help guide you in asking the right questions of these people, if you are uncertain.

Energy clearing and protection. These two cards have been coming out for me quite a lot lately and until today, I didn’t fully understand their significance or the fact that the two cards go together to form this important message “Clear your energy field and protect it“!
As we go through our lives and even our daily activities, we tend to pick up on things that happened during the day, the good the bad and the ugly. Sometimes people we come in contact with are in bad humour and this may brush off on us, or we work in an area where we listen to other peoples hardships and problems.
It is important to cut our cords to energies that are not completely positive in nature. If we don’t clear our energy field, then we accumulate “baggage” that isn’t ours to carry. Over time, this baggage can weigh us down and prevent us from leading full, happy and contented lives.
The Past
Letting go of past hurts and trauma can be difficult. It is like a grieving process, grieving something wonderful that you once had in your life but is no longer in your life, or grieving something that you never had in your life. Letting go doesn’t mean that you forget what happened or, if someone did you wrong, saying what you did was ok. Its more about acknowledging what happened, accepting that it cannot be changed and deciding not to carry the hurt forward in your life.
Clearing
So, how can we clear unwanted energy, hurts etc from our energy field? There are lots of ways, its just a case of seeing which method suits you best. Here are some examples:
Fresh air – standing outside, sitting outside, walking, jogging, running.
Water – paddling, swimming, shower, salt bath, blessing yourself with sanctified water.
Sound – sound bath, clapping your hands around your body, holding ringing bells and moving them around your body, meditation music, drumming,
Simulated cord cutting – using your hands like a sword and swooping them around your body in a motion similar to cutting dangling strings off your clothes. A stick or a ruler or any similar item can be used either.
Prayer – saying a prayer that relates to clearing energy can be said everyday and/or a couple of times a day.
Protection
Whether the weather is cold, sunny, rainy or hot, we always put something on to protect our skin and body e.g. warm coat, sun cream, waterproof clothes, shorts and t shirt.
Similarly we need to put a protective layer around ourselves if we are going to be coming into contact with a lot of different people during the day who they themselves will have different moods and energies.
Her are some ways we can put a protective layer around us for the day ahead:
Bubble – imagine a bubble encapsulating our entire body from head to toe.
Zip an invisible protective layer around your entire body starting with your two hands together above the crown of your head and move down the body to the ground and bring the “zip” back up around the body back to above the head again. White light from above and blue light from below. White is associated with spiritual protection while blue is associated with Archangel Michael who is known for protecting people and severing cords to things that are no longer in our highest good. He is the patron saint of the Police force.
Protection Prayer – standalone protection prayers can be used, or a prayer that combines clearing and protection. Phrases such as “Cancel – Clear – Delete” can be used if you want to use an immediate prayer that can be easily remembered.

When to do a clearing and protection
Its best to do this first thing in the morning and also last thing at night. If you feel you need to do a clearing and protection ritual at some stage during the day, by all means do so.

The number 13 and Releasing things that no longer serve us
Today is Friday 13th and there can be a lot of superstition around the day itself. Similarly, in the traditional Rider Waite Tarot Deck, the death card was much feared. The imagery in the deck was pretty gruesome (swords, blood, skeletons) and unfortunately it was interpreted as a sign of physical death.
Thankfully tarot decks have evolved since then, and one particular creator, Radleigh Valentine has transformed tarot by combining it with Guardian Angel and Archangel energies. These decks have a much softer and gentler energy while still delivering guidance. Some examples of Angel Tarot decks are: Angel Wisdom, Guardian Angel Messages and Archangel Power.
Card of the Day – Release
In todays Card of the Day (Release), we can see three words: Endings – Transformation – Freedom. Endings can be the end of a job or relationship or residence that may not have been entirely in your best interests and there is something much better waiting for you.
Transformation is similar to a caterpillar changing into a butterfly, it is where you become a new and different version of yourself. More often than not, you transform into a much better self and release self belief, habits and behaviours that no longer serve you.
Freedom, this is a fantastic message to get, it means that you are no longer constrained by your situation (whatever it may be), you have choice and can choose to move in what ever direction in life you wish to.
Often times when we release things that were not a good influence in our life, we make room for and attract things that light up our life e.g. healthy friendships and relationships, employment where we feel fulfilled.
This card can also relate to addictions and can indicate that new healthy habits and behaviours are coming through.
Numerology (Angel Number)
But these three things dont happen overnight, they require hard work, stability, structure and discipline hence the number 4 (1+3=4). It is important to stay focused on your tasks, and your efforts will eventually lead to success. Don’t give up, especially when the end goal is within sight!
Imagery on the Card
We have all heard of the phoenix bird rising up from the ashes and here in the card we can see exactly that. So, even if you have reached rock bottom in life, it is possible to rise up again.
The light depicts dawn, the start of a new day, a new beginning. All endings have a new beginning.
White roses symbolise purity, innocence, new beginnings, and reverence.
Archangel Azrael
The Angel we can see in the card is Archangel Azrael. His name means the “mercy of God” and he can help you work your way though the ending process. Endings can have some associated grief and the ending needs to be experienced rather than quickly dusting yourself off and moving on. In addition to your guardian angel and Archangel Azrael, it may be prudent to seek help and support from trusted friends, family members (blood or chosen family) and perhaps suitable organisations who provide support services relevant to your situation.

15. Increase your Knowledge – Archangel Michael Sword of Light Oracle Card Deck – Radleigh Valentine

Oftentimes the desire to have an Angel Card Reading is our intuition leading and guiding us to a particular book, course or person who can impart to us the cledon moments that we need in our healing journey.
This card had been coming out quite a bit for me over a period of time and I wondered – why? What is this card trying to tell me? I am continuously reading books and online material and completing courses.
I was then contacted by a young woman who wanted a combination of a reiki session and an Angel Card Reading. We decided to do the reiki session first and then after she was grounded, we moved on to the Angel Card reading.
Her question involved patterns of behaviour in her family tree, she intuitively knew that some patterns (both healthy and unhealthy) were being handed down through the generations, that there may well have been some intergenerational trauma that she was carrying and she was confused as to what to do about this.
In this instance she had found her “mentor”! I have carried out extensive research on my own family tree using online genealogy websites, a Genealogy Centre and a Genealogist. I had also purchased a book titled “Ancestral Healing Made Easy: How to Resolve Ancestral Patterns and Honour Your Family History” written by Natalia and Terry O’Sullivan and published by Hay House.
The young woman in question was also attending Counselling Sessions, but her feedback some weeks later was that the angel card reading with me had given her a fresh perspective on what she was intuiting and signposted her to finding out more about her family tree and working on whatever issues she had inherited that were weighing heavily on her.
Around the same time, another middle aged woman came to me for an angel card reading. Reading the cards that appeared in the spread, I got a sense that childhood issues were playing a part in her everyday enjoyment of life and that they weren’t yet completely resolved.
When I gently mentioned that this was what I was picking up, her eyes began to water and she said yes, that was correct.
That although she had had counselling in the past many years ago, she felt that she had not fully understood what had come up back then and that in her later years, she now had a greater need for better understanding.
And that she wanted to put the hurt and pain of the past well and truly behind her so that she could finally move on and enjoy the rest of her life.
Another cledon occurred for me – as with all free Facebook users, a lot of what comes up on my scroll feed is advertisements. One book caught my eye and when I googled it, another book came up that seemed to resonate a bit more. Of course when I was viewing this book another suggested book came up.
I showed her an image of the books that had come up in my search and explained that they may be of relevance to her situation and experience and she took note of them.
Sometimes, therapists may not always be accessible or affordable and if the need is not an emergency situation, books written and recommended by therapists may be a suitable short term gap to support a healing journey. Books may be available at our local library or can be requested there. The book may be available to purchase brand new and/or second hand.
None of us stop learning at any stage during our lifetime here on earth and we are encouraged to keep increasing our knowledge.
